We also tend to have a rather idyllic vision of how marriages used to go.
The truth is that not everyone ended up blissfully happy after 30 years of marriage.
Wow, that's certainly a better idea than letting people old enough to drive make their own decisions about their body. I wonder if masturbation is technically statutory rape of yourself there, that would be amusing : PYou just can't fix crazy :/And this talk about " oh she's mature of her age look at the way she acts and dresses blah blah blah" is a load of crap, Just because a girl knows how to act like a grown woman doesn't mean she ready to do what a grown woman does, she's 15 FFS.
I have buddies that has daughters that age and God helps the jerk off at 19 who thinks about asking their daughters out, they are treading where angels fear to go. Heck, some men are still immature at 30 and based on these forums, many not until their 50/60's.
In fact my Mom tried to make it so us girls had the same freedoms and 'rights' as the boys had, but she was fighting a losing battle against the men in my family. However, it did not do me any good when I was first becoming sexual, and I lost alot of good years worrying too damn much about being thought of as slutty for wanting and enjoying a perfectly natural act.
I was warned that men only want one thing from me..careful..."men are dogs, I should know, I am one"....
Also, if there was an example of a young lady nearby who was known to be sexual, I was told 'she is a slut', 'dont be like her'.
Entering my thirties I changed alot, dropped the old attitudes I had been carrying..it took me til I turned mid thirties to realise I had been fed a bunch of malarky.
On Topic-when one of the two in couple is underage, the issues that may arise really depend on how both of thier families react to it.
Personally, a parent who 'prohibits' it, is only creating that old romeo/julliet scenario and making the couple feel they have to "fight to stay together" and the young LOVE this kind of drama..in effect, they make the couple last even longer than they would have if it was just left to fizzle out on its own.
